Xcel, CIty of Denver and SolarApp+ compliant designs no extra edits
Is there a way to get this into our designs in Colorado? Below is a checklist, we love Solargraf, and all the recent updates, big fan but I find that we have to make a lot of edits in order to be compliant with Xcel, The CIty of Denver and SolarApp+ and I'm the one that has to fix them all, very time consuming when design review is just one of many things I do please see the following, I also added some wordy template guides in the setting sections for template, Thank you and keep up the good work!! Checklist to Verify Completeness of Cover Page, Site Page, and One-Line Diagram
This checklist ensures that all required elements are included in the cover page, site page, and one-line diagram for solar PV project submissions, aligning with Xcel Energy, SolarAPP+, and NEC standards.
Cover Page Checklist
1. Project Name:
o Clearly state the project name (e.g., Residential Solar Installation - [Client Name or Address]).
2. Premise Address:
o Include the full address of the installation site.
3. Installer Information:
o Provide the name of the installer or company.
o Include contact details (phone number, email).
4. Date:
o Ensure the submission date is listed.
5. Scale:
o Indicate the scale used in the drawings (e.g., 1 inch = 10 feet).
6. North Arrow:
o Include a compass direction marker.
7. Compliance Statement:
o Example: "This project complies with Xcel Energy PSCo Completeness Review Requirements, SolarAPP+, and NEC standards."
Site Page Checklist
1. Property Boundaries:
o Clearly mark property lines, easements, and right-of-way areas.
2. Existing Structures:
o Label all buildings (e.g., dwelling, garage, shop) and other structures (e.g., fences, retaining walls).
3. Proposed Solar Panel Locations:
o Indicate the location of solar panels and associated electrical equipment.
4. Main Service Entrance:
o Show the location of the main service entrance and all meters.
5. Utility AC Disconnect:
o Mark the location of the Utility AC Disconnect and production meter.
6. Roof Plan:
o Include roof dimensions, panel arrangement, and major roof protrusions (e.g., chimneys, vents, skylights).
o Ensure fire setbacks:
Minimum 36" pathway from eave to ridge.
Minimum 18" setbacks on both sides of the horizontal ridge.
7. Accessibility Statement:
o Example: "24/7 unescorted, keyless access shall be provided to all Xcel Energy equipment."
8. Overhead Clearance:
o Indicate any overhead clearance issues.
One-Line Diagram Checklist
1. General Information:
o Include premise address and installer contact information.
o Clearly indicate the Reference Point of Applicability (RPA).
2. Electrical Connections:
o Show connections of all major components (e.g., inverters, meters, AC disconnects).
o Label existing vs. proposed DER equipment.
3. System Specifications:
o Provide system size in kW DC and kW AC ratings.
o Include inverter and PV module details (e.g., model, capacity).
4. Utility AC Disconnect:
o Show a visible-open, lockable Utility AC Disconnect labeled "PV Utility AC Disconnect."
o Ensure it is located between the DER and production meter.
5. Ground Referencing:
o Include ground referencing equipment details for systems ≥ 1MW AC.
6. Placards:
o Reference weatherproof placards:
"PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM CONNECTED" at the main billing meter.
"UTILITY PV AC DISCONNECT" at the Utility AC Disconnect.
Verification of Completeness
1. Photographic Evidence:
o Submit photos/screenshots of installed equipment and inverter settings.
o Include images of PV inverter settings, Utility AC Disconnect, and production meter housing.
2. Documentation Consistency:
o Ensure all diagrams and plans match the interconnection application data.
3. Compliance:
o Verify adherence to Xcel Energy, SolarAPP+, and NEC standards.
This checklist ensures that all required elements are included and properly documented, minimizing errors and delays in the submission process.\
AND the following language has to be on the plans or they fail Xcel Energy's plan review ..
"They are real sticklers about this language, it has to include these words exactly:
UTILITY AC DISCONNECT SHALL BE VISIBLEOPEN
TYPE, LOCKABLE, AND READILY
ACCESSIBLE. NOTE: IT SHALL BE A KNIFE
BLADE TYPE DISCONNECT.
13. A NON-REMOVABLE YELLOW WITH BLACK
LETTERING “UTILITY PV AC DISCONNECT”
PLACARD AT THE UTILITY AC DISCONNECT IS
REQUIRED. THE PLACARD SHALL BE MADE OF
WEATHERPROOF & DURABLE MATERIAL SUCH
AS HARD PLASTIC OR METAL AND
PERMANENTLY ATTACHED TO THE UTILITY AC
DISCONNECT WITH SCREWS OR RIVETS. IT
SHALL BE AT LEAST 1-1/2" HIGH BY 3" WIDE.
14. A NON-REMOVABLE YELLOW WITH BLACK
LETTERING “PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM
CONNECTED” LAMINATED PLACARD AT THE
MAIN BILLING METER IS REQUIRED. THE
PLACARD SHALL BE MADE OF WEATHERPROOF
& DURABLE MATERIAL SUCH AS HARD PLASTIC
OR METAL AND PERMANENTLY ATTACHED TO
THE MAIN BILLING METER WITH SCREWS OR
RIVETS. IT SHALL BE AT LEAST 1-1/2" HIGH BY
3" WIDE."
